Colorado Homes & Lifestyles is always on the lookout for stunning homes, from luxurious high-country retreats to smart urban spaces, in styles ranging from traditional to mountain modern. We are always eager to receive a wide variety of home submissions and story ideas, which enables us to produce the best magazine possible.

HOME FEATURES

2022 July/August home feature

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION

– Home cannot be for sale or about to go on the market.
– Home must be privately owned; no model or spec homes, please.
– Submission must include high res photos of exterior, kitchen, baths, master suite and any other bedrooms, great room/living room, dining area, and any other distinctive interior or exterior details.
– Home must be unpublished.
– For home stories, both features and departments, we require that homeowners participate in an interview. They can remain anonymous, however our readers enjoy hearing their stories of a home’s origins. Before you pitch a story–please secure homeowner approval, you’ll find the form here.

HOW TO SUBMIT A HOME FEATURE

1. Ensure that the project has been unpublished.
2. Title your email to awards@chlml.com: Pitch for Colorado Homes & Lifestyles
3. In the body of the email provide a brief synopsis (1-2 paragraphs) of the project or story idea.
4. Attach a completed entry form.
5. Attach a completed Homeowners Release.
6. Provide multiple high res images of the exterior, main living areas, kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, bathrooms, and other interesting spaces (indoor and outdoor) via Dropbox to editorial@chlml.com. We will not consider submissions in which we must download images to view them.

Send ONE PROJECT per email to: awards@chlml.com Projects MUST be unpublished to be considered! If you wish to send multiple projects, send your best FIVE (separately). Any more, and we are inundated with material to sift through.

PLEASE NOTE:

– CH&L continuously reviews editorial submissions throughout the year. Our minimum lead time for editorial consideration is 3-4 months before publish date. For example, if you’d like to be considered for the July/August issue, please submit your idea no later than early May.

– The edit team meets every 4-6 weeks.

– CH&L prefers first-time exclusivity and reserves the right to cancel pending stories if found to be a duplication; please do not submit your story ideas to multiple publications simultaneously.

– Consideration can take up to two months; CH&L will respond to the submitter either way. Please feel free to follow up via email if you haven’t heard back from us.

– We cannot guarantee when a story will run.

– Advertising with CH&L has no bearing on whether or not your project/product will be featured editorially.

– In addition to home submissions, we are always on the lookout for unique boutiques, talented artists and craftspeople. Please send your queries to awards@coloradohomesmag.com

– Project can be an entire home or individual spaces, such as kitchens, baths, home offices, wine cellars, home theaters, etc.

HOW TO SUBMIT A DEPARTMENT STORY

1. Title your email to awards@chlml.com: Pitch for Colorado Homes & Lifestyles
2. Provide a brief synopsis (1-2 paragraphs) of the story idea and which department you would like to be considered for.
3. Identify location and contact information for all professionals involved.
4. Provide high res imagery of the subject matter. Please send images via Dropbox to editorial@chlml.com. We will not consider submissions in which we must download images to view them.
5. Attach a completed entry form if pitch involves a residential home.
6. Attach a completed Homeowners Release if pitch involves a residential home.
