Leading a healthy lifestyle can look different for everyone. Getting enough exercise, nourishment and rest during the week can sometimes feel like a balancing act, but, with effort, it can be possible. For Farnosh Family, better living was at the heart of starting her brand Sun Ghee by amplifying recipes with nourishing gourmet ghee blends.

I was ill after having kids and not really recovering. I had to change how I ate and ghee was a part of that change,” she shares. “Through better foods, like ghee, I began to feel better. That’s when I started infusing ghee with spices and herbs to get more creative in the kitchen and I found that became a good entry point to ghee. By having infused flavors, we give people a way to imagine how they would use this better-for-you fat for cooking.”

The journey from farm to table consists of sourcing grass-fed cows on dairy farms with regenerative practices that are certified humane. Quality over quantity is at the premise of ensuring the best cooking experience with Sun Ghee. “We take pride in how top quality our dairy is and it shows in our final product,” Family tells us. Sun Ghee offers seven distinctly infused flavors that include Adaptogenic, Aleppo Chilli, Cardamom, Ginger & Pepper, Herb De Provence, Rosemary & Sage, and a purely original blend.

My background is actually in chemistry, so experimenting with different flavors, spices and herbs in the kitchen was really fun for me. I chose the flavors we currently have because they provide a nice range of applications for cooking,” Family explains. “We know people, by nature, have a strong connection to the foods and flavors they eat, and that it’s more than just sustenance. We feel ghee is a good medium for finding that connection to flavor in a good-for-you fat format.”

She also tells us that the Aleppo Chilli ghee is a recent crowd favorite that’s perfect for cooking eggs, roasting veggies and spreading it on sourdough bread for an avocado toast. “We have the rosemary and sage ghee that’s popular for fall flavors like roasted chicken and potatoes. [Our] chives, parsley, and tarragon ghee goes great with seafood, pasta or on bruschetta.” And for sweets lovers, Family says the cinnamon ashwagandha infused ghee is a wonderful compliment to breakfast foods, like an apple cake.
